Dr. Chang has an international and diverse background; she was born and raised in Lima, Peru with strong influences from her Japanese and Chinese family.<\/p>\n

Since early childhood she looked up to her mother and her passion for her dentistry career. The dedication, compassion and care that her mother had for her patients had a profound effect on <\/strong>Dr. Chang and her older sister who also became a Dentist specializing in Orthodontist. Both, her mother and sister, practice dentistry in Peru where they enjoy improving the oral health of their patients with a dedicated care.<\/p>\n

It was in Lima that Dr. Chang attended Dental School at Cayetano Heredia University and received her Summa Cum Laude Doctorate in Dental Surgery as one of the top five students of her class.  She then completed advance clinical and theoretical training in Dental Prosthetics at the OHU University School of Dentistry in Fukushima, Japan. Upon returning to Peru, she received her Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry in 2000 and stayed at the university as an Associate Faculty teaching students how to deliver an outstanding dental care with ethical and professional manner.<\/p>\n

In 2007, she moved to the DC area and attended 2 years of Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Maryland. Dr. Chang speaks Spanish, English and basic Japanese.<\/p>\n

From 2009 to 2019, Dr. Chang worked as an Associate Dentist in Arlington, VA. And now, with great experience and know-how she has entered a new chapter by starting her own practice, SMILE CONCEPT, where she focuses on family and cosmetic dentistry with a personalized and gentle care, building bonded relationships with her patients as her mother once taught her.<\/p>\n

Because of all this, SMILE CONCEPT is proud to give their patients the great care they are looking for.
